Kanye West's Descent Into Insanity

Kanye West’s music has been iconic in the music industry for nearly 2 decades. However, he is absolutely no stranger to controversies. Now, the musical genius everyone once knew and loved is completely gone and all that’s left is only a shell of his former self.

Kanye has had countless past disputes prior to his most recent one, including many antisemitic statements. Some of his most notable ones include: The 2009 MTV VMAs Incident where Kanye infamously interrupted Taylor Swift's acceptance speech, claiming that Beyoncé deserved the award instead; The many times he has shown support for Donald Trump and Nick Fuentes, well-known white supremacist; His InfoWars Appearance where in December 2022, he appeared on Alex Jones's show and made statements praising Hitler and denying the Holocaust.

Kanye West has revealed that he had been misdiagnosed with bipolar disorder and is actually on the autism spectrum. Obviously, one of the listed above is not like the others. He also stated he no longer takes medication, believing it blocked his creativity, which is most likely one of the top contributors to his erratic behavior.

Early February of this year, Kanye abruptly went on a tweeting spree, ranting on about antisemitic, racist, and hateful views. He also had tweets defending Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs. At the very end of his frenzy, he advertised a plain white shirt with a swastika on his official merch website, and then deactivated his Twitter account some time later. Kanye has done things like this in the past, likely for attention whenever he feels it slipping away, no matter if it’s the good or bad kind of attention, as long as his name is trending. People’s reactions fuels his own ego, so he keeps on doing crazier and crazier things to get what he wants.
However, recently on February 20, Kanye posted a tweet saying “After further reflection I've come to the realization that I’m not a Nazi.” which might be too little too late.

So, will Kanye be able to redeem himself from this? Personally, I don’t believe so. He has been given far too many chances and none have been taken. Majority of people around his life are either there to take advantage of him, or are too scared to stand up against him. Is it possible he gets the help that he needs? And will his self-destruction ever stop? One can only hope.
